X / A more intentional setup

How to Use X Without Starting in For You

Reviewed 2026-11-07

Choose the timeline you actually want to read. Switching away from For You is different from hiding its tab.

Start with the native options

  1. Open Following when you want accounts you follow.
  2. Build a List around a specific purpose if that gives your reading an endpoint.
  3. Read the List for the task you chose, then close the session.
  4. Recheck the active timeline after an app or account change.

Know the limits

X documents For You and Following and says it returns to the timeline last open when closed. That behavior is not permanent removal of the other timeline. Navigation and account behavior can change.

Use a filtered browser

Loopbye hides selected feed entry points inside official mobile websites on your device. Choose the platform, review its filters, and test the messages, search or subscriptions you actually need. Optional iOS Hard Mode adds a shield over native apps you select.

We do not promise permanent blocking, a fixed setup time or identical mobile-web and native-app features. Your social credentials and content stay outside our servers. Read the privacy details.

Common questions

Does this remove every X feed in the native app?

No. Choosing a destination or changing recommendations does not guarantee complete native-interface removal.

Is the app available to download now?

Download the iPhone app using the App Store link on this page.

Will all X features work in a filtered browser?

Not necessarily. Mobile-web features, shared links and account restrictions can differ. Check the app for the tasks you need.

Does filtering send social messages or passwords to your servers?

No. The filter runs locally. Social credentials, messages and feed content are not collected or transmitted to our servers.
